Opis z pocztówki:
Singapore's first two Merlion statues were designed by artist Kwan Sai Kheong and sculpted by Lim Nam Seng in 1972. The larger statue is eight metres tall while the smaller one, often referred to as the "Merlion cub", is two meters tall. Both statues used to be located at the mouth of the Singapore River, where Fullerton Waterboat House currently stands, but where later moved to the new Merlion Park next to One Fullerton in 2002. One can almost imagine urban sketchers painting the Merlion statues on their canvas at the Old Esplanade Walk if the statues remained in the area today.

Wizerunek posągu Merlion jest znanym symbolem Singapuru, używanym do 1997 jako logo przez singapurską izbę turystyki. (źródło: Wikipedia)
